1st Place in the Aqua Magazine National Design Competition for Vanishing Edge Pool Design was awarded to Fulton Pools in Pt. Charlotte, Florida for this design. The bird is standing on the back edge of the pool.

The Florida Swimming Pool Association at their annual January meeting voted Dan Johnson as their Person of The Year. Dan is the president of Swim Incorporated, a design award winning firm located in Sarasota and was honored for his years of volunteer service to the industry and his leadership in the Association.

Swim Incorporated of Sarasota has won three Florida Design Awards for outstanding swimming pool design and construction. The FSPA Design Awards program is intended to recognize pool companies from across the State for superior design and innovative construction techniques. Swim Incorporated was the only builder in the State to win three awards this year.

The owner of Swim Incorporated, a local swimming pool design/build firm has been appointed by the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, based in Washington D.C., to chair a national committee convened to re-write the ANSI/APSP-5American National Standard for Residential In-ground Swimming Pool Construction. Dan is a Past President of the Florida Swimming Pool Association and was selected to chair the new writing committee after completing work on the new American National Standard for Suction Entrapment Avoidance, the most comprehensive swimming pool entrapment avoidance standard ever written.  Swim, incorporated is a member of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and Dan is a Director of the Manasota Chapter of the Florida Swimming Pool Association.

Dateline Washington DC, September 17, 2007 – Dan Johnson owner of Swim, Incorporated, a Sarasota, Florida swimming pool design/build firm has been selected by the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, based in Washington D.C., to sit on the Provisional Organizing Committee of the APSP Career Institute. The mission of the career institute is to expand the industry body of knowledge and set the benchmark for professionalism and best practices. The POC is charged with establishing the qualifications, criteria and procedures for seating the Career Institute Board of Regents.

Dan Johnson, owner of Swim Incorporated, a local swimming pool design/build firm has been appointed to serve on the Energy & Sustainability Task Force of the Florida Swimming Pool Association.  Dan is the developer of a circulation and sanitation system which, when compared with pools using traditional circulation and sanitation systems can reduce operating expenses by over 75%.  The new Task Force will work with the Legislature, Governor, utility companies and all other groups concerned with energy and sustainability issues relating to green building technologies, products, and construction techniques available to the pool and spa industry.  They will also work to inform and educate industry members in the area of green building technologies.

Dan Johnson, owner of Swim Incorporated, a local swimming pool design/build firm has been selected by the Florida Swimming Pool Association, in cooperation with the Building Officials Association of Florida to write code commentary for the swimming pool safety section of the new Florida Uniform Building Code which goes into effect in December of this year. 

Code commentary is designed to help Building Officials interpret new sections of the code.  Dan was a member of the national writing committee, which produced the safety language adopted by the Florida Building Commission into our current code.

Orlando, August 3, 2008 – Swim Incorporated, a leading edge swimming pool construction and consulting company based in Sarasota, Florida has been awarded a coveted Aurora Award for Energy Efficient Swimming Pool Design.  The SEBC awards recognize the top performers in their fields from the twelve southeastern states.  Swim Incorporated was the stand-alone winner in this category; the only builder in the 12 state area to win this award.  The winning project was a pool constructed behind an award winning home, known as the Bayshore House, by Sarasota Architect Terry Green.

The National Plasterers Council selected Dan Johnson, of Swim Incorporated, as the designated expert to educate the Council on pool drain safety.  Dan will present a two-hour seminar at the Council’s annual conference in Reno Nevada on drain safety and the requirements of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act.

Sarasota based Swim Incorporated, won the “best in class” Gold Award for it’s entry in the freeform pool category, 701 sq. ft. & larger at this year’s Florida Design Awards competition.  In addition, Swim Inc. won a Special Judges Award for Technical Achievement based on engineering and executing a complex, drainless aquatic environment including a split-level pool with a beach entry, perimeter flow edge, a twenty one foot waterfall and specialty equipment allowing remote control of all of the projects features.

November, 2011 – Swim Incorporated has been awarded a Silver Medal in the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals annual International Awards of Excellence competition in the category of Pools with a Vanishing Edge, 601 sq. ft. or larger.  This prestigious award is the second highest honor awarded in this International Competition among builders from around the world and is one of only 16 awarded this year.

(ALEXANDRIA, VA) – To honor the industry’s best pool contractors, The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) announces the establishment of the APSP Fellows Program. The Fellows Program recognizes the industry’s top contributions that enhance the professionalism of the pool and spa industry. The peer nominated honor was developed by the APSP Board of Directors to recognize industry leading pool contractors who have demonstrated a long-standing commitment to learning and development through the presentation of educational programs, technical and business publications, and industry related research.

The inaugural cadre of pool contractor Fellows was named during the APSP Board of Directors Luncheon at the International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo November 5. They are: Jana Auringer, The Pool Lady; Bob Barron, CBP, CSP, Baron Pool Service; Steve Barnes, Pentair Aquatic Systems; Dan Johnson, CBP, Swim Incorporated.; Mark Laven, Latham International; Ron Lacher, CBP, Pool Engineering; Albert Rizzo, CBP, CSP Rizzo Pools; Rick English, CBP, English Pool Consulting; and posthumously honored were Al Inglin, Aqua Pool Service & Spa; and Tom Seechuk, LaMotte.

November 23, 2013 – Dan Johnson, a pool builder in Sarasota and owner of local pool building company Swim Incorporated, has been named by the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals as the Certified Building Professional of the year. The award was presented in a ceremony at the International Pool & Spa Exposition in Las Vegas on November 18th.
